It is an accepted truism that ‘‘whatever the mind can conceive, the reality is possible.’’ this is my story in the fashion business. My fashion journey dates to when I was 10 during which I learnt making of cloths with the use of needle and thread, it was a thrilling experience for a boy of my age to venture into fashion.

It is often said that ‘‘the intelligence of a man cannot be seen wrong in him unless he has been told by a being of his kind.’’ I owe my rising in the business of fashion to my uncle Mr. Japheth; he was a dress maker and usually ask me how nice each dress he made was and this ignited my liking for fashion. My experience with my uncle made me to climb further, this time I decided to learn how to match machine.

I have always had a good taste for fashion, and I admire good outfit. I am intentional about my outfits; I don’t leave the house without properly visiting the mirror and trust me people always admire my fashion sense. This trait with what I leant from uncle Japh. propelled me to take the gig to the next level, then the idea of Macklemore Fashion home came.

The journey to success of my fashion career was not as rosy as its glory presently, the journey was a very difficult one. First I was faced with the difficulty of convincing my parents that fashion was good for me and then secondly is the issue of sponsorship or how to raise the fund for a start, this at that time was like been crucified with the two thieves or been caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, and regardless I must make a choice either to bow to the pressure at the foot of the mountain or climb the hill to see what lies at the other end.

My parents wanted me to go into science or engineering and not fashion and as such going to them for sponsorship wouldn’t be the nicest of ideas as at the time. But according to J.K. Rowling ‘‘there is an expiry date on blaming your parents for steering you in the wrong direction, the moment you are old enough to take the wheel, responsibility lies within.’’ At this point I decided to take the risk and it paid off.

In 2021, I started my fashion journey in earnest, I had to engage people who assisted me in making clothes even when I tried venturing into other business, we made good clothes, and the vision was growing so fast though with challenges common to every business.

Later, as the call of growth rang, I with the help of my team expanded to building a page dedicated and focused on African themed outfits, where we promote African culture, tradition, history, and elegance through beautifully carved African wears that tells the African story.

Macklemore Fashion is a brand I have dedicated to the true resurgence of the African story, I have strived to preserve, celebrate, and promote the diverse cultural heritage of Africa by digging out forgotten history of African fashion heroes/heroin, and icons including their contributions. I built a website dedicated for this and runs up every week with team of experts to promote it.

Macklemore fashion today serves both local and international clients, we ship cloths globally to any location. And today, we have grown to be one of the best especially in North America and with a reasonable staff strength, we make different kinds of dress especially African wears and ship to different parts of the world.

Currently, we are the vendor to supply 200 clothes for the ‘the birth the Nation event in Atalanta.’ An event that will bring business in Africa to life by appraising the predominant and ample opportunities for African entrepreneurs, the challenges of entrepreneurship and how to navigate them.
